Business Recap for August 2020

Date: August 27, 2020
Subject: Monthly Business Recap for August 2020

Highlights of the August Board Meeting:

The annual Insurance renewal was proposed and approved and was largely similar to last year’s with the exception that unit owner’s deductibles are now $10,000 per State bills HB108 and SB175.

A motion was passed to allow those with motorcycle garages to put in an application to allow their motorcycle garage to be within line of sight of their home.

Finally a motion was passed to allow a series of concrete repairs to sidewalks, in the amount of $12,215, from the normal annual Maintenance budget.

Other news this month:

  • The annual BOD election approaches and as always there are three seats up for election. Submissions for nominations need to be completed by close of business Sept 9 and the election will follow on Oct 9.    This year, elections will be electronic and detailed instructions are forthcoming.
  • The Queen’s Landing website is getting an update this year, which is targeted for next week, on September 1st.

Finally, please note that the decisions that get made around the community on such things as maintenance, insurance, rules, and so on are all done by committees which are staffed by volunteer residents.   Most committees will ask for less than an hour or two of your time per month and need more volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering please reach out to the office or the Board!
