Subject: Monthly: BOD Recap September 2021
Hello Queen’s Landing from your Board! This month’s Recap covers the business of not one but two meetings, the first September 7 and the second September 20, split mainly because of the tremendous amount of material that needed to be covered.
President Bob Karnei announced that we are losing Lisa as our onsite manager and have started the process to hire a new manager. The office will continue to operate but patience will be needed as response times will be delayed. Tidewater’s main office will be assisting so if you have the need for contact, email will be preferred over phone for the time being.
In news on all the upcoming big projects, the Board accepted:
*The bid from Harper and Sons for the Doors and Windows project.
*The bid from Harper and Sons for the COMAR security project
*A motion to include work on the clubhouse bathrooms, west deck, and Chester Room doors that will be completed in conjunction with the COMAR security project
*The bid from Bartlett Tree for 2021 Landscaping Fall Enhancement project
The work in soliciting these bids and recommendations and the timing and scope of these projects is as always a broad and shared effort across many committees and the unit owners who staff them voluntarily, including the Maintenance Committee, Ad Hoc Pool Security Committee, Long Range Planning Committee, Budget Committee, Landscape Committee, and Ad Hoc Reserve Committee. These committees have published a lot of documentation on these projects and have given a number of presentations to the community both in committee and in Town Halls.
Also mentioned were the upcoming Annual Meeting, annual Election for three Board seats, and the 2022 fiscal budget. The election’s electronic voting opens on September 25th which you will be emailed about while Meet The Candidates night comes September 30th, so if you are still undecided you may want to wait for that event before voting. Finally, the Annual meeting and election results will be Friday October 8th.
