Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is a group of volunteer homeowners elected to serve as the key decision-making body within the community.  The Board is responsible for ensuring that the community is well-run and that the needs of the residents are met.

Committees

It is in the interest of the Unit Owners of the Association to have committees whose purpose is to assist the Board in the review of policies and implementation of programs for the benefit of the Association and the community.

Community Enhancement Committees:

Communications Committee
Chair: Emily McAuley
To plan, manage, and review the communications and marketing efforts of the Association, including the digests, newsletters, website, broadcast messages, and communications programs. This committee meets as needed and averages six times per year.

Social Committee
Chair: Anne Stewart-Pugh
To develop social events in order to engage Unit Owners, Residents and Tenants. This committee meets as needed to plan events and has approximately ten meetings per year.

Long Range Vision and Planning Committee
Chair: Harry Baldauf
To focus on the development of long-range plans, policies, and standards for the operation and maintenance of the Community; initiate review of and present to the Board of Directors additions and alterations to community assets and how community facilities might look and function in the future. This committee meets as needed and averages ten times a year.

Property Stewardship Committees:

Maintenance Committee
Chair: John Lancey
To assist the Board of Directors in development and oversight of plans and procedures that will maintain the buildings, structures, grounds, landscaping and recreational facilities of Queen’s Landing. This committee meets monthly, and as needed, therefore, averages twelve meetings per year.

Landscaping and Grounds Subcommittee (of the Maintenance Committee)
Chair: Tracey Weaver
To assist the Maintenance Committee in planning for, implementing and overseeing the design and maintenance of the grounds of the campus. This ommittee meets monthly and, therefore, averages twelve meetings per year.

Recreational Facilities Subcommittee (of the Maintenance Committee)
Chair: Laurelle Sheedy McCready
To assist the Maintenance Committee in the operation of the clubhouse, the pool, courts, kayak support, and other recreational facilities of the Community. This committee meets approximately four times a year.

Business Management Committees:

Covenants Committee
Chair: Clark French
To assist the Board of Directors in development, oversight and enforcement of the Declaration, Bylaws, Rules & Regulations and Policies that control the design, appearance, use and enjoyment of the community. This committee also reviews Architectural Change Request applications. This committee meets once per month and therefore averages twelve meetings per year.

Documentation Subcommittee (of the Covenants Committee)
Chair: Clark French
To assist the Covenants Committee in development, oversight and maintenance of the Queen’s Landing Declaration, By-Laws, Rules and Regulations, Resolutions and Policies, that are accurate, current, meet the needs of the community, and adhere to Maryland Condominium Law as amended. This committee meets when it is activated and determines the meeting schedule according to the assigned project.

Financial Management Committee
Chair: Laurelle Sheedy McCready
To assist the Board of Directors in development, oversight and maintenance of the Association financial affairs. This committee meets on average four times a year.

Reserve Subcommittee (of the Financial Management Committee)
Chair: Laurelle Sheedy McCready
To assist the Financial Management Committee in conducting a comprehensive review of the prepared reserve study as needed to repair, replace, restore, or maintain common area components of the Association. This committee meets as needed.

Investment Committee
Chair: Laurelle Sheedy McCready
To assist the Board of Directors in oversight of the Association investments. This committee meets on average four times a year.

Risk Management/Insurance Committee
Chair: Kara Salvo
Development, oversight and maintenance of the Association’s risk management activities, including developing and maintaining a risk matrix, making recommendations for risk mitigation, and evaluating existing and future insurance policies. This committee meets as needed and averages three meetings per year.

Nominating and Election Committee
Chair: Emily McAuley
To encourage, manage the election of, and train Unit Owners to serve on the Board of Directors, and Unit Owners and Non-Owner Residents, as appropriate, to serve on the Committees of the Association. This committee meets as needed July through November.

Marina Executive Committee
Chair: Clark French
This four-person Committee is comprised of two QLCUO Board members and two Boat Slip Owners. It is responsible for the management of the marina and for keeping the QLCUO Board apprised of fiduciary activities.
